Local Measure R funding to date: $5.4 million
The City of Visalia has invested Measure R funds in the Local Category in a wide variety of ways, all designed to enhance transportation by car, bus, bike and foot.
- Storm drain work needed as part of the widening of Mooney Boulevard just under 5 miles long.
- Safe Routes to Schools: Curb and gutter, sidewalks and crosswalks throughout Visalia
- Road surface improvements throughout Visalia.
- New/improved signals including Demaree and Goshen; Ben Maddox and Douglas; and signal interconnections city-wide
- Improvements to the bridge over Mill Creek near Hillsdale
- Improvements to Burke Street from Houston to Roosevelt
- McAuliff bridge extension

Clear Air Projects
Thanks to the Clean Air category
of Measure R:
- Visalia Transit has been able to expand routes 1 and 7
- Visalia Transit now offers Sunday service on all routes
- Modoc Creek Trail bicycle and pedestrian path along Ferguson Avenue
- Modoc Ditch Trail from Mooney Boulevard to Riggin
- St. Johns River Trail
- Mill Creek Trail Path
- Packwood Creek Path
- Santa Fe All Purpose Path
Visalia has also benefitted from the Regional Projects category
- Ben Maddox bridge and intersection.
- Road 108 widening.
- Betty Drive grade separation.
- Plaza Drive (Road 80)
